EDDIE THE EAGLE

Everyone loves a feel-good movie and Eddie the Eagle certainly qualifies. The story is based on the uphill quest of a self-trained, under-funded British ski-jumper Michael “Eddie” Edwards and his life-long dream to be in the Olympics. Actor Taron Egerton remarkably takes on the real Eddie’s quirky speech, movements and “never say never” enthusiasm.

With Hugh Jackman playing his coach, Eddie takes on the establishment and goes on to make an improbable and historic showing as the only British ski-jumper at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.

After seeing Eddie the Eagle, I was so inspired by the character and curious about the person, I felt compelled to look up his bio on Wikipedia and watch a short YouTube interview. I respect the real Eddie Edwards even more!
