LIKE A BOSS has a familiar premise. Two inseparable best friends from childhood go into business together. In this case Mia and Mel (Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne) own a cosmetics company. When they run into financial trouble, being bought out by Claire Luna (Salma Hayek), a powerful giant in the cosmetics industry, seems to be the answer to their problems. Except, that’s when their problems really begin.
As I said, female “buddy” movies have been done before. However, in LIKE A BOSS, Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne bring an even-toned hilarity to their roles, with side-splitting antics, witty potty-mouth banter, perfect comic timing that includes sexually explicit body movements and spot-on facial expressions, and exceptional likability. And it’s fun to see gorgeous Salma Hayek play crazy mean!

LIKE A BOSS is raunchy. It’s laced with vulgar language and inuendo. And I haven’t laughed so hard since … can’t remember. The scenes in the movie trailers give a mere glimpse into the action. If you want pure entertainment for 83 minutes, treat yourself to the entire movie.
