NATPE Miami 2019 outdid itself. For those who aren’t familiar with the acronym, NATPE stands for National Association of Television Programming Executives.
NATPE is a Trade Show that represents the Entertainment Industry. NATPE is the global marketplace where creative, technical, and promotional ideas are shared. This is where program content is introduced, bought and sold. This is where it is decided what WE get to watch on our television screens in the future. What makes NATPE unique is that the Trade it represents is the Entertainment Industry. And, you never know which celebrities will be spotted at the glamorous Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, where NATPE is held!
Among the recognizable names and faces at NATPE this year were Esai Morales and Jussie Smollett who led a panel discussion LIVING THE DREAM with young adults interested in a career in the Entertainment business. (Keynote speaker was Tyler Perry).
Kelly Pickler and Ben Aaron announced the winners of the 2019 UNSCRIPTED BREAKTHROUGH AWARDS.
At the celebrity-studded Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award gala, comedian Byron Allen, producer/writer Mara Brock Akil, former Chairman of NBC Entertainment Robert Greenblatt, and industry Icons Rita Moreno, Henry Winkler, and Betty White were honored. Sean Hayes, Gloria Estefan, Yvette Nicole Brown and Meredith Vieira presented the Awards.
And, we ran into Khalilah Camacho Ali (former ex-wife of Boxing legend Muhammad Ali), who had a lot to say.
