We could list the accomplishments and accolades to describe Nicole Henry, such as she was the “Best Solo Musician in 2002,” according to the Miami New Times; and that in 2004 her rendition of the song Teach Me Tonight reached #1 in Japan and was named HMV Japan’s Best Vocal Jazz Album of 2005; and that her 2008 album The Very Thought of You reached #7 on Billboard‘s jazz chart; and that her 2011 release Embraceable reached the Top 20 on jazz and U.S. smooth jazz radio charts; and that in 2012 The Huffington Post wrote “Nicole Henry emerges hands down as this generation’s First Lady of Jazz;” and that in 2013, she took home the Soul Train award for ‘Best Traditional Jazz Performance.’
But we’d rather describe Nicole Henry as a soft-spoken, incredibly intelligent, down-to-earth, artistic, creative, generous, beautiful and very talented, singer/performer, whom Stewart and I are happy to know.
