Finally, our anticipated return to what we once considered “normal” entertainment was here. As we all know and sadly experienced, last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the South Beach Seafood Festival was cancelled. So when we learned that our favorite annual food event was returning this year (2021) with a lineup of the best seafood offered and live music spread out on the sands of South Beach, we were ecstatic.
Well, this year, the day of the evening festivities, was storming! Pouring rain, thunder, and dangerous lightening forced the concerned producers of the long-anticipated Chef Showdown – a premier activity of this Festival – to protect the people. The Chef Showdown was postponed to the following night, and it didn’t disappoint. The weather cooperated and the crowds came! The daytime festivities were upbeat and fabulous. And the nighttime Chef Showdown was the best ever – Delicious samples of creative seafood dishes prepared by five-star rated chefs, exotic dancers to ogle, and competitive cooking performances to watch and enjoy.
