According to Marc Provisor’s Bio, in 1982, he was a young Israeli paratrooper fighting against terrorists in Lebanon. While on furloughs, his friends took comfort in alcohol or drugs. This didn’t work for him. So when a friend gave him a gift of a sketch book and watercolors, he found Art as a way to release the beast that resided within him as a result of combat.
In 1985, as an American from Philadelphia, he returned to the U.S. (New York) to study Fine Art. Then, in the nineties, he was back in Israel where he entered into the professional world of “Security and Anti-Terrorism” – and found that life was overwhelming. The truths he was experiencing were too painful to express on canvas.
Until 2019. He found Art, once again, gave him an outlet to release his PTSD, angst, fears, and love of beauty while still working in the field of Anti-Terrorism.
What makes Marc and his Art special, is the diversity of his artwork. Beautiful Expressionist style Landscapes with added images of the gruesome reality of constantly being at War. Marc uses the same raw feelings he has when assessing Security needs to prevent terror, in his art composition. “I try to look for the positive and negative spaces of the situation, the light and the dark, the form or lack of, and the heated and chilled sides of the challenges set before me.”
