Who Is Lisa F. Rosenberg?
by Dena Stewart
We met Lisa for the first time on Zoom. Stewart scheduled a meeting with her for his video show “It’s Just a Conversation”. He wanted to interview some of the authors scheduled to appear at this year’s Miami Book Fair.
So Stewart had a Conversation with Lisa F. Rosenberg. And it is worth noting that Lisa’s personal story is a series of laughable escapades that not many can laugh about.
Born and raised in Marin County, CA, her “quirky” mother and aunt, and superstitious but wise grandmother spoke to each other in Ladino, the language of Sephardic Jews. Lisa’s father left when she was 12. He took Lisa’s brother with him. At eighteen, Lisa moved to New York City with a friend. She worked in restaurants, went to school and got a degree in Art History. Seven years later, Lisa returned to California worked in several Art Museums and Galleries, met her husband, and raised two sons who are now grown.
Certainly memoir material, however, Lisa’s book is a novel about a quirky Mom and embarrassed Daughter relationship, and the Ladino language and customs Lisa grew up with, told with a great sense of humor. Fiction based on truth? Find out. Read …

We will meet Lisa in person at the Fair.
